Our Story

     We moved to the Chenango Valley from Napa Valley in 2023. After being life-long Napa hobbits and over twenty years in the wine industry, we both felt the pull to make a change for the future.

     Having visited Telluride, CO in the Rocky Mountains for many years, we purchased a five acre farm and began planning our future for Mountain Lavender Company there. However, with many changes to come over the course of the early 2020’s, we decided to leave the West entirely and chose somewhere we could feel was less prone to climate stresses and changes.

   When we found our dream farm in Central New York State, in the green rolling hills and forest covered mountains of Chenango Valley with a beautifully updated farm house built in 1888 on 8 acres with sloping fields, flowing creek running through and deep woods surrounding, we immediately bought the property and moved here two months later.

     We are currently planting our German sourced Gold Nugget Jelitto certified seeds, sprouting has taken place and we plan to be ready to harvest our first crop of flowers by 2026. We are working hard to put in place a premier source of English Lavender for culinary, artistic and creative uses to be shared with you through our Shrub Club for which we will be taking allocation requests by Fall 2025 in preparation for our 2026 Spring offering of each full lavender plants’ flowers shipped Air within 48 hours directly to your door for incredibly fresh Lavender to enjoy and then to dry and use for your Culinary or Artistic desires. Tea, Ice Cream, Seasonings, Oils, Dyes, Soaps and more can be crafted using your annual Shrub Club delivery, or simply let it sit and enjoy the fragrance for an extended time.
